How do you feel about someone smoking in your room? How about drinking? Do you like to go to bed early? Or stay up really late? A lot of the time, random roommates come from different backgrounds and have diverse personalities, interests, and beliefs, and that can lead to unexpected connections or disagreements.

Starting college is an exciting time for young adults with newfound freedom. The dorm experience is unique for everyone and can be exciting and very nerve-wracking. When you have a random roommate, it’s an even bigger gamble. Living with a new person can go multiple ways. Sometimes you can’t stand each other, and sometimes you end up meeting your best friend and living together for the rest of your college experience. 

It's more than just sharing a room, it's about navigating newfound independence, personal growth, and building a friendship from scratch. The people you surround yourself with contribute a lot to what your individual college experience is, and random roommates are luck of the draw, giving you the new unique position of living alone, together.
